Music Week 2020 was canceled due to Covid. Mark had approached me to help him convert a Musical into a musical with a train theme, so we could share in the same decorations as VBS, which was going to be having a train theme. He found a musical titled Mission Possible, which had children at a bus stop, figuring out clues to a Mission. To accomplish this theme change, I re-wrote the scripts, and wrote an introductory song titled 'Train Up a Child', making it as if two choir teachers were deciding to take their choir rehearsal to a train station, and while finding clues around the train station about their songs, they would then sing their songs to passers by, almost like a 'flash mob', which also gave the kids opportunity to be on a mission to share their faith.
I was excited about the opportunity to use a new publisher program and new printer at church, and with the help of Jeff Byrd, figure out how to put the songs and scripts into book form. It was FIRST time to see a song I wrote IN A BOOK!!!
By the time we were able to do this musical (2021) Addison and Ailey had aged out of being one of the choir members, BUT. Mark welcomed them to come and be helpers. They were very excited to be able to participate. Ailey broke her collar bone at camp a few weeks before, but was still able to come and help. Addison ended up getting sick after the first day and was only able to attend the first and last days. For the special outing, the church took all the kids to Lakepoint Station in Cartersville. The kids all had a blast.
